Today is the 54th anniversary of Bela Lugosi's death. To pay him tribute, we made the short trek to his grave at the Holy Cross Cemetery, where he was laid to rest in his Dracula cape. Farewell, Bela. With all due respect to the silver screen's finest Frankenstein, you're still better than Boris Karloff.

Dark Entries
I love Bauhaus. "She's in Parties" is one of my favorite songs of all time.
And, truly, the cover art for many of their singles is - for lack of a better word - the best. I would be thrilled to possess physical copies of any or all of the following:

Actually, I do have a 12" vinyl single of "Bela Lugosi's Dead," and it's absolutely glorious. It was purchased at Amoeba in Hollywood for something like $1.99, and it's probably my favorite record out of my entire collection.

Here's my band covering the aforementioned goth classic at a Halloween show a couple years back:

Check Out Spooky Weddings Week
A friend of mine maintains a wedding blog, and this week has been Spooky Weddings Week! So far she's covered (among other things) the nuptials of Robert Smith of the Cure, Dita von Teese and Marilyn Manson (Spooky Little Girl does NOT endorse MM, but their wedding was very cool) and Bela Lugosi. Normally, I don't get particularly excited about weddings, but spooky and/or slightly macabre weddings are a huge exception. If/when I tie the knot, I have grand fantasies about doing it here, at the Hammond Castle in Massachusetts:
It's so gorgeous and eerie. (In fact, if possible, I would like to live at the Hammond Castle. Can that be arranged? Thx.) Did you have a spooky wedding? Have you ever been to one? Do you hope to have one someday? Tell me about it!
